Buttonwood Buttonwood Farm Winery & Vineyard

Buttonwood Farm Winery is a small gem set amidst the splendor of Santa Barbara County’s Santa Ynez Valley.  Our thirty-nine acre sustainably managed vineyard stretches across a sun drenched mesa on the eastern portion of our 106 acre property.  We started planting in 1983 and now have 33,000 plants, small in the world of wine, but huge to us.

Our winemaker, Karen Steinwachs, hand-crafts award winning Sauvignon Blancs, Merlots, Cabernets and blends from our estate fruit.  Our current annual production is 8500.  We invite you to try our latest vintages in our tasting room at 1500 Alamo Pintado Road, outside of Solvang, CA.

2007 Sauvignon Blanc, Santa Ynez Valley Estate Grown

As a grapevine, Sauvignon Blanc is pretty easy-going. It grows well without needing a lot of pampering and will produce a hearty yield if left to its own devices.  But at Buttonwood, Sauvignon Blanc is nurtured, manicured and gardened to produce a carefully calculated crop of glorious golden clusters.  Sauvignon Blanc is, after all, Buttonwood’s signature wine and we rest our reputation on this time-honored grape.

Blended with Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc makes a stunning wine, full and rich as well as tart and sassy, and oh-so-wonderful with food.  Especially seafood.  Think of it as the slice of lemon that cuts through the flavor of the fish.
